In the winter of 2016, another 5,000 coastal native seedlings of 30 species were planted in the Marmion and Sorrento Beach coastal foreshore reserves (25,500 in total now planted, average survival rate of 85%). Most seedlings were protected using green plastic sleeves and bamboo stakes. These need to be recovered for re-use to plant another 2,200 seedlings this coming winter. The plan is to recover and bag 2,200 sleeves at this event.
Park on the southern side of Troy Ave in Marmion and meet on the shared path on the coast there. Bring sturdy shoes, clean gloves and a hat. Morning tea will be provided. No need to RSVP, just come along if you can and see how successful the work done to date has been!
