The Independent Review of Australia's federal environment laws (The Samuel Review) found that our natural environment is in an overall state of decline and our laws are not fit for purpose.
That’s why we are calling on the next federal government to establish Australia’s first Federal EPA along with the full set of recommended reforms.
To create stronger environmental protections we need:
- A strong and independent Environment Protection Authority (EPA)
- Stronger bioregional planning
- Data collection and information sharing, and
- A structure that allows decisions to be made based on a set of environmental standards and science, not politics.
We need a Federal EPA Now!
