Perth Bushwalkers Club Inc

The Perth Bushwalkers Club was formed in 1969. Of the hardy band of walkers that came together in the beginning, Geoff Schaeffer is regarded as the founder of the club.

The club has always been concerned with minimum impact walking.

Perth Bushwalkers Club is the largest and most active of Western Australia’s bushwalking / hiking clubs and also one of the oldest clubs, with a considerable depth of experience to share.

Members enjoy a wonderfully wide range of bushwalking and other outdoors activities, many close to Perth, others in remote parts of W.A., interstate, and N.Z. The year-round program includes half-day walks, day walks, overnight backpacking and adventurous multi-day expeditions lasting up to ten days or even longer. The local summer activities also include easier river and beach walks, cycling and canoeing activities.

We encourage members to develop bushwalking skills and self-reliance. We offer training opportunities in navigation (map and compass, and GPS), first aid and walk leadership, plus abseiling and canyoning. Our members also enjoy mingling socially at various relaxing Club events throughout the year.
