Help us call for proper consultation and clarity over WA’s landmark climate change bill

The WA Government is rushing to introduce climate change legislation - including the 2050 net zero emissions target - by the end of this year. This important piece of legislation shapes the emissions trajectory of the state and the whole economy as we begin to urgently decarbonise.

However, a truncated four-week consultation period on the climate change legislation – which had limited conversations about the bill to a few stakeholder groups, but not the general public - has attracted criticism from climate advocates. This is your chance to tell the WA Government you want your say!

31 organisations have issued a joint statement urging the state government to re-open the consultation for the proposed bill - which ended on Tuesday 24th October – and to allow the public to have their say on the future of the state’s climate legislation. WA is seeing the impacts of climate change right here, right now, and we should all have a voice on issues that impact us.

Sign on to the statement and show your support for an extended consultation period!
