Appeal Writing Workshop - North West Shelf extension

The North West Shelf (Karratha Gas Plant) is one of the oldest and most polluting gas processing and export facilities in Australia, located on Murujuga (also known as the Burrup Peninsula) in the Pilbara, WA.

Woodside and its joint venture partners had permission to process gas at the North West Shelf until the current gas fields are depleted (this decade), but are now seeking to extend the life of this facility until 2070.

At a time when we need to rapidly decarbonise as quickly as possible, the WA Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) has recommended that the WA Government approve Woodside’s proposal to extend the life of the North West Shelf facility.

Join us to write appeals against this project at our Submission Writing Workshop. We will run through what the North West Shelf is, why it shouldn't have its life extended to process more gas fields, as well as explain everything you need to know so you can write your own powerful appeal against the project and have your voice heard!

Bring your own laptop or other device and charger, or writing materials. We'll provide expertise, snacks, coffee and tea!
