Gifts in wills

Leave a gift in your will and help protect Western Australia’s unique natural environment – long into the future.

The Kimberley. Ningaloo Reef. The old growth forests of the South West. These places exist today because people fought for them. A gift to the Conservation Council of WA in your will means that fight continues – for every generation that comes after yours.

50+ years

We have been WA’s leading voice for nature since we were founded in 1967

Independent

As a non-profit, non-government organisation, we're community-funded

Every front

From reefs to rivers, beaches to bushland, we're here for nature every time

Why it matters

The places you love can’t speak from themselves. We can.

CCWA is a non-government, non-profit organisation. We rely almost entirely on donations and community support to campaign, lobby, and advocate on behalf of Western Australia’s natural environment – from preventing destructive mining in sensitive areas to pushing for better protection for threatened species and ecological communities.

A gift in your will is the most powerful long-term contribution you can make. It lets us plan ambitiously, sustain multi-year campaigns, and keep fighting even when the political pressure to stop is immense. Your gift doesn’t expire when a campaign ends – it powers the next one.

The bigger picture

A donation is a statement about what you value.

People who leave a gift to us in their will share something: they’ve seen what happens when no one speaks up for nature. They’ve watched forests cleared, reefs bleached, coastlines developed. And they’ve decided that on their watch – and beyond it – Western Australia will have a fighting chance.

Our purpose is ensuring the protection and restoration of Western Australia’s natural environment – not just for our own generation, but for generations to come.

A bequest to CCWA is an act of trust in that purpose. It says: Keep going. Keep fighting. The forests, the reefs, the rivers – they're worth it.

You don’t need to leave a large gift to make a real difference. Even a small percentage of your estate, pooled with the gifts of other Western Australians who feel the same, funds the campaigns and advocacy that protect our natural environment for generations.

How it works

Choose the gift that fits your circumstances

Most people are surprised by how flexible and straightforward a bequest can be. Your family always comes first – a gift to CCWA simply ensures that whatever remains also carries your values forward.

You can direct your gift towards a specific cause – climate action, forest conservation, threatened species protection, or community advocacy. If you’d prefer to leave it unrestricted, we’ll put it where the need is greatest at the time.

Ready to take the next step or ask a question?

No obligation, no pressure. A conversation with us costs you nothing – and it might be the most meaningful thing you do for Western Australia’s natural environment.

You can get in touch with our Fundraising Manager on (08) 6558 5155 or [email protected]

Legal consideration

While you can write your own will, we strongly advise you to engage a legal professional who can ensure all details and considerations have been taken into account.
