It’s Plastic Free July, and I'm challenging myself to find alternatives to single use plastic for an entire month - and to write a daily blog on the most interesting parts of the experience. I stayed plastic free today by avoiding the shops altogether.
A lot of this blog has been about changing my consumer behaviour, which is important for me to think about. As I’m not self sufficient, it’s inevitable that I’m going buy things - some new, some secondhand.
But it’s also important for me to think about not being a consumer at all. One of the easiest ways to go plastic free is just to avoid the shops altogether, and to spend time rather than money on my interests.
This is why today’s photo is just of my lounge room. Look at Poppy stretched out under the table - she’s the perfect example of simply enjoying what you have.
Do you try to reduce how often you go to shops? What are your tips for stretching the time between trips?
