Save Scott Reef Campaign - Fremantle Launch

Join us for a special community event at Fremantle Town Hall to hear from nature and climate experts about the new campaign to save the pristine Scott Reef off the Kimberley coast from Woodside.

Scott Reef is teeming with unique biodiversity, including vulnerable green sea turtles and endangered pygmy blue whales.

This natural wonder is now under threat from Woodside's Burrup Hub mega-gas project. The fossil fuel giant wants to drill over 50 wells at this stunning location as part of its plans to develop the Browse gas field, turning pristine waters into an industrial zone.

11 years ago, the WA community, led by Broome locals, took on Woodside and won.

Now, it's our time to stand up again to Save Scott Reef for good!

What’s in store:

  • Film Screening: Watch a short film showcasing the beauty of Scott Reef and the urgency of protecting it.
  • Expert Insights: Hear from a panel of experts about the environmental impact of Woodside’s Burrup Hub project and what we can do to stop it.
  • Q&A Session: Get your questions answered by our panellists.
  • Take Action: Learn how you can get involved and make a difference.

Speakers include:

  • Dr. Ben Fitzpatrick, Marine Ecologist and NW Australian coral reef expert
  • Alex Hillman, Analyst with the Australasian Centre for Corporate Responsibility and former Woodside climate change advisor
  • Jess Panegyres, Head of Climate and Energy at Greenpeace
  • Anna Chapman, Fossil Fuels Program Manager at CCWA
  • Martin Pritchard, Director of Strategy at Environs Kimberley

Doors open at 6.00pm; the event starts at 6.30pm.

Join us and be part of a powerful community, from Freo to Broome, that is standing up to protect Scott Reef.

Registrations are free but essential!

NOTE: Save Scott Reef is an alliance of CCWA, Greenpeace Australia Pacific and Environs Kimberley. Your data will be shared with each organisation as part of the Save Scott Reef campaign.
