The industry is stepping it up. So are we!
With the theme of “connecting the regions with the city” this two day event will bring together community members from across Western Australia and provide a fantastic opportunity to learn valuable new skills and build stronger networks amongst those working to protect WA from fracking.
The conference will give Perth residents the opportunity to hear first-hand the concerns of rural landholders, help to develop greater collaboration between and within urban, regional and rural community groups, and inject fresh energy and purpose into the state-wide Frack Free campaign in the lead-up to the 2017 WA state election.
The weekend will include skill share workshops on a range of topics including community campaigning, media and social media skills, and regulatory and legal frameworks. You will also have the opportunity to hear from Yawuru Traditional Owner Micklo Corpus, speaking about the efforts to protect the Kimberley, as well as rural and urban NSW residents who have been involved in successful community campaigns against coal seam gas (CSG) in NSW.
Costs: $25 (for the entire weekend, to help with catering costs)
