Significant changes were made to Western Australia’s environmental laws in 2024.

Concerns were raised around the flawed process through which these reforms were developed and passed.

To raise awareness of this process, alongside the multiple and compounding threats WA's unique nature is facing, Conservation Council of WA, together with alliance partners and key groups, are calling on the WA Government to strengthen our environmental protection laws.

We have drafted a series of high level environmental policy recommendations (Protection Agenda for Nature), with a full report launching later this year.
