An economist, an artist, a beer maker and a conservationist walk into a bar for a conversation about the gas industry's hold on WA, and what we can do about it.
Not only are enormous new gas projects in WA devastating for our climate and marine environment, but Western Australians get virtually nothing from them.
Despite being one of the largest gas exporters in the world, Western Australians receive less royalties from the gas industry than we pay in vehicle rego or beer tax.
The Federal Government gives big gas companies over 70% of the gas exported from WA for free.
The Australia Institute's co-CEO Leanne Minshull will moderate a lively discussion about how we can stop the gas industry destroying our environment and ripping us off.
