A major development—an entertainment and motorsport precinct—has been proposed for Burswood Park, near the Swan River/Derbarl Yerrigan and a nationally significant wetland.

Burswood is known for its riverpark and is home to diverse birdlife and other wildlife.

The area between Optus Stadium and Crown Casino would be cleared for the development which includes a motor racing track.

This development would destroy the exisiting green space, threaten habitat, wildlife, and water quality, and increase pollution and noise in an already sensitive area.

If you think Burswood Park’s precious wetlands and green space are worth protecting, now is the time to get involved.

The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) recently opened a public comment period about whether the proposal should be assessed.
