Spotlight on Nature

Our environment is in crisis, facing multiple threats from climate change, land clearing, and over-development.

Threats to nature jeopardise the lifestyles and livelihoods that are central to our identity as West Aussies - from family camping trips to surfing and hiking, to fishing, farming, and tourism. But the places we love are in decline.

As we confront the challenges of biodiversity loss and climate change, it is more important than ever to protect our environment.

To halt extinctions and ecosystem destruction, we need strong nature protection laws. To start with, we must protect all remaining critical and remnant habitat from clearing and other threatening processes and significantly increase funding for ecological restoration programs.
