Corals’ Last Stand documents one of Australia’s last wild places. Scott Reef, over 250 km north-west of Broome, is an area of pristine beauty – its unique biodiversity includes endangered sea turtles, pygmy blue whales and sea snakes. But it is in serious jeopardy.
Award-winning documentary maker Jane Hammond filmed Australian legends Tim Winton and John Butler as they travelled to the remote reef. Their aim? To save the precious ecosystem from Woodside’s proposal to drill over 50 wells into the Browse gas field that lies beneath Scott Reef.
After watching Corals’ Last Stand, audience members can participate in a panel-led discussion about the importance of the Save Scott Reef campaign and how we need to Go beyond Gas!
