EcoFest 2020

We are proud to announce that this year’s EcoFest 2020 – A Day in the Park for Conservation will be held on Sunday 22 March 2020 from 10am to 3pm at Hyde Park, North Perth.

This is a free family-friendly event organised by Conservation Council of WA, the state’s peak environmental organisation that has, for over 50 years, been the outspoken and independent voice for the environment.

The EcoFest 2020 is a great way for people to experience the benefits of sustainable living, find out more about our unique environment, and get involved in their local community.

The festival will feature food stalls, live music, Aboriginal cultural activities, and children’s workshops. There will also be interactive workshops and talks on sustainable living, conservation, climate action and more. There are so many ways to engage in positive action for our environment. Here is a snapshot of the EcoFest 2020 program to get you started:

  • Native animal encounters and handling with Amy Wild Adventures
  • Learn how to Weave using natural textiles, fibres and repurposed cardboard and make beeswax wraps in our Makers Tent
  • Explore Bushtucker with Dale Tilbrook
  • Using water and energy wisely in your home with Alan Bennet from Environment House
  • Chris Ferreira from the Forever Project looks at how to create a beautiful water-wise and organic home garden for your family.
  • Come and see Shona Hunter from The Hidden Pantry’s workshop on how to create fabulous meals with that seasonal, organic fruit and veggie box
  • Sabrina Hahn and Johnny the Frogman will show you how to build a Backyard Oasis for your frogs!
  • Come and help Noongar Artist, Sharyn Egan build a life-sized woven Numbat for International Day of the Forests.
  • Ethical Fashion Show and For Our Future Contemporary Dance for Earth Month
  • Live Entertainment - All day Gypsy Jazz
  • All-day Children’s Activities, including REmida’s Make it Move workshop, a Box City, Eco Faeries and Discovering Tiny Invertebrates
  • Over 30 Market stalls including a diverse range of environmental groups and stallholders with eco, fair trade & sustainable products.
