WA's South West is home to the world's only jarrah forest - but it's being wiped out.

Just south of Perth/Boorloo, the Northern Jarrah Forest is being cleared and mined for bauxite at an alarming rate.

Bauxite mining is the primary cause of deforestation in the South West, with three of the world's largest bauxite mines operating here.

Bauxite mining is destroying ancient forests and pushing wildlife to the brink.

Yet, both the State and Federal Governments have approved further bauxite mining expansions.

Our forests are too precious to mine.
