Sea Shepherd’s Marine Debris Campaign is teaming up with the local Cockburn / Coogee/ Freo communities holding a massive clean-up at John Graham Recreation Reserve in the Woodman Point Regional Park in support of Plastic Free July.
Bring the whole family and help us clean-up the beach, dunes, parkland reserve and the area around the Ammunition (Ammo) Jetty. In 2015 our clean-up at Ammo Jetty alone removed over 3,300 items of marine debris.
The City of Cockburn will also be launching their new anti-litter on-line video at the event and we will hear from the founder of Plastic Free July, Rebecca Prince-Ruiz.
The John Graham Recreation Reserve is located at the end of Nyyerbup Circuit, Coogee which is where we will be setting up the Clean-up HQ. The Woodman Point Regional Park is approximately 9 kilometres south of Fremantle.
Please be sun smart, wear enclosed shoes, bring reusable gloves and plenty of water. Registration will be open from 8.30am.
This event is single use plastic free – that’s what Plastic Free July is all about! We’ll have the Roaming Barista coffee van on-site serving up hot drinks from 8.30am – all plastic free so BYO KeepCup (we will have some mugs and a wash station available).
Plastic is not fantastic, so join us for this amazing community event and show your love for our oceans and coastal reserves.
