We are Western Australia’s foremost not-for-profit environmental organisation. For almost 60 years we’ve been a prominent and forthright voice for conservation, working directly with communities, government, Traditional Owners, industry, and media to promote a more sustainable WA and to protect our natural environment.

Currently, we're dreaming up a new way for our community to combine connecting to Country with helping raise vital funds to ensure the beauty of WA's biodiversity is still strong and thriving for generations to come. 

We're inviting expressions of interest from those who would like to join the Hike for WA's nature early September 2027 along the iconic Bibbulumn Track. 

About the hike

The Bibbulmun Track is one of the world's great long-distance walking trails, stretching almost 1,000km from Kalamunda in the Perth Hills to Albanay on WA's south coast. It winds through towering karri and jarrah forests, coastal heathland and some of the state's most spectacular scenery, home to countless native plants and animals that CCWA, together, with the community are trying to protect. 

Rather than take on the whole track, Hike for WA's nature will cover a shorter section over several consecutive days. We're currently considering 3, 4 or 5-day options, and once we know who's interested, we'll ask hikers to help choose the timeframe that works best for the group. 

This is a smaller-scale, community fundraiser. Think an exclusive group of hikers (max. 20 hikers), a shared goal, and the chance to raise vital fuds for nature while spending time outdoors and learn more about the Country you will be walking on. 

How it works

• You cover your own hike costs. This includes things like transport, accommodation, food and guide. All this will be organised by CCWA and we will just be charging a price per hiker. 
• You commit to a minimum fundraising target. We expect this to be $2,500 per hiker, raised through your own networks, friends and family, not out of your own pocket. Full details will be confirmed once planning is underway. 
• All funds go towards protecting Western Australia's environment.

• Get outdoors and experience the karri forests, wildflowers and coastline the Bibbulumn Track is known for.

What happens next

This is an expression of interest, not a confirmed booking. There's no cost or commitment at this stage. We simply want to understand how many people are keen before we move into detailed planning, including finalising dates, distance, cost estimated and the fundraising target. 

Everyone who registers interest will be first to hear as the details are confirmed, and will have a say in decisions like the length of the hike.
