The History & Future of WA Forests

Short Doco’s & Guest Speakers – hosted by "Fremantle in Transition"

"Fremantle In Transition" (FiT) are hosting this informative evening to support the Forest and its defenders this month. If you would like to know what's happening in our South-West Forests, what people have done so far to protect it and what are the plans for the future, come along to this highly informative evening.

The evening will be a number of short documentaries / videos and some guest speakers to inform you of the truth about the logging in the south-west including past protective actions and what needs to be done next to protect our precious forests.

Evening schedule:

6.30pm: Come and settle in, grab a cup of tea and nibbles.
7:00pm: Guest Speakers from the the Fremantle Forest group.
7.30pm: Short Videos / Docos – (including 'Costing Us the Earth', Still Falling', 'Amongst Giants', 'Forest Mismanagement WA' )
8.30pm- Discussion, Q&A

Some facts everyone in WA should know:

- If the new 10-year Forest Management Plan is implemented, an area of forest equivalent in size to 10,000 Subiaco football ovals will be logged every year for 10 years.

- Over 80% of the wood from our forests ends up as firewood, charcoal, woodchips and railway sleepers.
