Jane is Convenor of WA Forest Alliance (WAFA). From the late 1970s, she was active in Campaign to Save Native Forests’ (CSNF) efforts to stop bauxite mining in the Northern Jarrah Forests. With WAFA she still works to end forest mining and protect the forests for climate.
Jane was an academic staff member of Murdoch University with expertise in the political economy of international development effectiveness, gender justice, labour movements and poor people’s politics in Asia. She was a member and Chair of the Oxfam Australia Board (2004-14) and served two years on the Oxfam International Board of Supervisors. Now retired, Jane is Adjunct Associate Professor in Politics and International Studies at Murdoch University. She is a member of the Charitable Collections Advisory Committee (WA) and recently completed the Governance for Social Impact course with The Centre for Social Impact (UNSW).
