Jane Hammond

Jane Hammond is a lifelong environmental activist, independent documentary filmmaker, and freelance journalist based in southwestern Western Australia. After leaving The West Australian newspaper in 2012, Jane pursued a Master of Professional Communications at Edith Cowan University, completing her studies at the WA Screen Academy in 2016.

Her notable documentaries include A Fractured State (2016), A Crude Injustice (2017), Cry of the Forests (2020), Black Cockatoo Crisis (2022) that focuses on the urgent challenges facing WA’s iconic black cockatoos, and Corals Last Stand (2025) that focuses on the campaign to Save Scott Reef.
