National Threatened Species Day is held annually in Australia on September 7th. This date was chosen to commemorate the death of the last Tasmanian Tiger or Thylacine that was officially declared extinct in the 1930s.
Project Numbat proudly presents our 3rd annual National Threatened Species Day event to promote the conservation of Western Australia’s unique but threatened native wildlife.
The event is in collaboration our friends at the Conservation Council of WA, Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre, the Turtle Oblonga Rescue and Rehabilitation Network, Whiteman Park and the Gilbert's Potoroo Action Group; with volunteers donating their time to raise awareness and much needed funds for their chosen organisations, their projects and chosen animals.
Come along and hear about the great work being done by us and our friends. Support us with a donation or buy some great merchandise. Bring along the kids for face painting, numbat stickers, colouring in and meet our friendly mascot "Nurla". Also attending will be "Gilby" the Gilbert's Potoroo mascot and "Harmony" and "Rex" Kaarakins friendly education black cockatoos.
