About

Conservation Council of WA has been protecting nature since 1967 and played a key role in establishing the Environmental Protection Authority in 1971.

The CCWA Nature Program launched in May 2024 to defend and strengthen our state and federal environment laws, as well as drive a positive agenda for nature conservation in Western Australia.

We work with community members, allies and CCWA member groups to defend WA’s nature from increasing threats by campaigning for strong nature laws and building a powerful grassroots nature protection force in WA.

Our team reflects this varied and diverse work and is drawn from a number of sectors, all united by their love for WA’s dramatic natural landscapes, iconic native species and a desire to protect them for future generations.
