The Cook Government is determined to pass its undemocratic State Development Bill this week - despite many environmental and legal organisations expressing their deep concerns.
To recap, this Bill prioritises the private sector over the environment, gives significant power to one Minister and an unelected Coordinator General, and gives extraordinary powers that will undermine other laws - including the Environmental Protection Act.
But we've been here before. Together with people around the country, we raised our voices and helped strengthen our federal nature laws through the EPBC Act reforms, and by standing together again now, we can push back on this dangerous Bill.
Will you join us in a snap action to call on the Cook Government to hit pause and deliver a proper consultation on this Bill? If enough of us rally together we can push for amendments that can put some guardrails to protect nature and community rights.
