Forests in the Sustainable Development Goals UN Agenda


UNAA WA evening seminar for the Perth Community to learn about our global challenge to foster "Life on Land" (Goal 15 of the Sustainable Development Goals): “Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss”.  Our three expert speakers will present and answer your local and global questions on these topics.

Forests are essential for our life on Earth. By 2020 UN members must promote the implementation of sustainable management of all types of forests, halt deforestation, restore degraded forests and substantially increase afforestation and reforestation globally.

Our Speakers and Talks :
1) Pak Ade Padmo Sarwono. Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Perth "Indonesia Forest Policy to achieve Sustainable Development Goals"

2) Ms. Mary  Gray, President Urban Bushland Council WA.  "Bush Forever in Banksia Woodlands of the Swan Coastal Plain"

3) Mr. Brett Kuhlmann, Chief Executive Officer South East Regional Centre of Urban Landcare (SERCUL). "Role of education for the conservation and improvement of natural areas"
