Indigenous Advisory Board

The CCWA Indigenous Advisory Board provides insight to the organisation on increasing Indigenous participation and representation in addressing environmental and conservation issues facing Western Australia. It will also provide guidance to CCWA in order to influence its decision making, working practices and cultural competency.

The Indigenous Advisory Board's objectives are to improve CCWA’s cultural competency and capacity to properly support Indigenous communities throughout the state. It also works to improve CCWA’s capacity to provide appropriately designed services (e.g., representation, participation, co-design) to Indigenous member groups and to adequately reflect and develop the multi-cultural basis upon which Western Australia’s environment needs to be managed.

CCWA recognises that Indigenous relationships with Country integrate Western concepts of environment, community, and culture, and seeks to reflect this view.
