Day 21 - Plastic free papadums

It’s Plastic Free July, and I'm challenging myself to find alternatives to single use plastic for an entire month - and to write a daily blog on the most interesting parts of the experience. This evening I looked for a plastic free takeaway option.

Royal India in West Perth is one of my favourite restaurants, and they have great takeaway options for lunch and dinner. They have foil takeaway containers with cardboard lids, and their papadums come in paper bags.

Unfortunately you’re also given a plastic bag and plastic cutlery, so to make it completely plastic free, you need to bring your reusable bag and either bring your own cutlery or take it home.

It’s no problem if you’re organised, but if you’re hungry and in a rush like I was, it would be great to have paper bags and wooden cutlery as an option.

I think I have an Onya bag somewhere, which is small enough to fit in my handbag. That seems like a more practical solution than trying to remember the reusable Bunnings bag in my car boot!
